New Tax Business Opens in Downtown Leesburg

Blue Ridge Tax opened its doors for business in downtown Leesburg Monday with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Leesburg residents came and met owner Charles Hartman, and Kristen Umstattd cut the ribbon.

"Blue Ridge Tax is a welcome addition to our professional business community," said Marantha Edwards, Leesburg's Economic Development manager.  "Mr. Hartman's experience with specialized tax services is a necessary and important service offering for Leesburg."

People flowed in and out of the office throughout the day grabbing a bite to eat and talking with Hartman. Hartman's family attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"We're thrilled and we love Leesburg," said his wife, Sarah Hartman. "This is probably the busiest block on the whole street; it's exciting."

She added that the family found the location at 26 S. King St. by simply strolling around town. Hartman plans to work with larger private and public companies and act as their tax director.

"I want to thank everyone for coming and I'm looking forward to becoming the newest tax person here in Leesburg during tax season," Hartman said. "I'm working on a financial advisory firm, so I'm registered in the State of Virginia, and I'll be running that here in Leesburg. It's all getting finalized, so it'll be up and running in the new year."

"I saw in the news the other day that Loudoun County has the highest average economy in the country, which is unbelievable," Hartman added. "And being in the county seat, if I can't make it as a C.P.A. here, I'm not going to make it anywhere else."
